BRINGING BALEARIC VIBES TO CULLERCOATS

If you’ve ever had the opportunity to explore the many sights and sounds of Ibiza, the infamous White Isle, you’ll understand why people fall in love with the magical island, returning year after year to immerse themselves in the rich, colourful and vibrant culture.  After spending five years living in Ibiza, Mark and Shelley Deakin returned to the North East to create their very own Balearic-inspired seaside haven – Salthouse, a bar and kitchen bringing an Ibicencan-inspired flavour to the heart of the North East coastline.

Specialising in serving up authentic Spanish tapas cooked fresh to order, Salthouse offers a relaxed dining experience, where you’ll be able to indulge in simple foods made with the very best ingredients. All of the venue’s seafood comes from the local North Shields fish quay and the restaurant only works with local suppliers, with an exception being their cheese and charcuterie, which is sourced from the finest Spanish suppliers so you get that authentic Spanish feel.

Inspired by the eclectic and relaxed dining vibe you’ll find in all corners of Ibiza, Salthouse serves up delicious pinchos, tapas, and cocktails, accompanied by great tunes and good vibes, always. And, as well as a fantastic choice of delicious tapas dishes, the venue also offers some of the best Spanish beers and wines available, with an impressive selection of draught beers and a cocktail menu curated by the venue’s very own Mark Deakin and cocktail legend Tom Proud.

Trust us, from the moment you step into this venue, you’ll instantly be whisked away to sunnier shores, with its distinct Mediterranean feel. In a nutshell, Salthouse is “about inclusivity, informality and community without sacrificing quality.”

So, how did we work together and what did we achieve?

Salthouse approached us as they needed design support with a range of marketing materials, including their food and drink menus. We’ve worked closely with the venue owners for a number of years, supporting them in creating a Balearic influence across all creative touchpoints. Salthouse have always had a clear and distinct vision of who they are and how they want to be seen, with the values of inclusivity, informality and community remaining at the brand’s core – this insight helped us immensely when it came to meeting their brief!

We listened carefully to this vision and took the time to understand the brand, so that we could translate their unique identity into impactful marketing materials. Ultimately, we placed a strong focus on providing evolving design solutions that epitomised the spectacular sunsets and sounds of Ibiza, whilst also embodying the seaside haven of Cullercoats Bay.

This project really allowed us to exercise our creativity to execute designs that captured the spirit of Ibiza and its powerful energy. Bold, eye-catching and energetic, all of the marketing materials we created aimed to inspire action and reflect the high level of escapism that this venue radiates in abundance.
