FEAST OF DESIGN INSPIRATION AT TWENTY PRINCES STREET

Twenty Princes Street provides an award-winning fine dining experience on one of Edinburgh’s most historic city streets. Located on the first floor of Hotel Indigo, we had the pleasure of working with their innovative team to provide a range of creative assets for their restaurant. Thanks to the venue’s prime position, surroundings and inventive infusion of locally-sourced and exotically-inspired ingredients, we were served up a feast of inspiration for our designs.

What captured our imaginations most was the restaurant’s sweeping views of Edinburgh Castle. If eyes really are the windows to the soul, the triple glass panels reaching almost ceiling to floor, must be at the heart of the restaurant’s ornate interior. We wanted our menu design to capture Twenty’s fusion of traditional and visionary – tempting tastebuds with twists such as the classic cheeseburger – a venison patty perfectly complimented with apple ketchup and burnt leek mayo. When another typical dish sounds as good as black garlic gnocchi – haggis spiced lentil ragu combined with Jerusalem artichoke bechamel and plant cheese fonduta – you can see how we got our creative juices flowing.

What appealed to our hearts and minds with this particular project was learning that the restaurant is housed in the former hotel ballroom. This became integral in conjuring up the glamour and decadence that continues to echo through this prestigious establishment. It was important to us that guest touchpoints communicated a venue steeped in tradition but with an ability to sweep you off your feet with just one bite of butter-poached lobster or one sip of short-mile bay shiraz. We continue to be intrigued where this culinary and creative journey may take us next…
